We're looking for a warm, reliable and fun person to help with after-school care for our two great kids, ages 6 and 8, about 3-4 days per week from approximately 5:00-7:00 pm (with some flexibility). Our kids attend Kimberly Public School, and we live just a five-minute walk away near Main and Gerrard. We'd ideally love to find someone who lives or studies nearby - this could be a great fit for a university or college student looking for consistent, regular part-time hours. We live within a 10 minute walk from the Danforth GO, 15 minutes from the Main TTC and 2 minutes from the Gerrard streetcar. The routine is pretty straightforward: picking the kids up from their school after-care program, walking home with them, and hanging out until we get home from work. Depending on the day, that might mean having dinner together (we'll have food prepared in the fridge, and you're very welcome to eat with them!), playing at the park directly across the street from our house, playing or reading at home, helping with some homework, or occasionally taking them to a nearby after-school activity. Everything is walkable. More than anything, we're hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and can build a good relationship with them. They're fun, social kids, and we'd love someone who will engage with them rather than simply supervise them. Reliability and good communication are very important to us, as we're looking for someone who can become a regular and dependable part of our weekday routine.
