An established heavy civil and mining business in northern Ontario is planning its next generation of leadership, so the Senior Project Manager hired now gets to learn it from the inside first. You would work alongside the District Director, a leader with a real record of developing people, who is making room at the table rather than guarding it. Succession is a word used loosely in this industry. Here, it is the reason the role exists.

The work is heavy civil and mining in a part of Ontario where few contractors can consistently deliver. Projects typically run $10 to $50 million across mining infrastructure, dams, bridges and public works. The work is across Northern Ontario, and the flexibility runs both ways.

The group boasts the autonomy of a regional business and the technical depth of a national contractor behind it. Platforms like this open rarely, if at all.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

- You have run $10M+ civil or mining projects end to end. Budget, schedule, subs and the owner relationship, where the dollar value was never the hard part
- You have built in the north, or you are ready to. Remote sites, short weather windows, long supply chains and thin labour markets are things you plan around
- You are already doing more than your title pays for. Mentoring PMs and coordinators, helping price work, sitting in on the decisions that shape the business
- You lead people before you lead schedules. Crews respect you because you have been there with them, and clients call back because you are straight with them early
- You still want to be coached.
