Overview

Thomakis Yogurt is a Greek yogurt manufacturer in Port Coquitlam. We make traditionally strained yogurt — no thickeners, no shortcuts — in our own CFIA- and BCCDC-licensed dairy plant. We're a small team, so the person in this role has a direct hand in every cup that leaves the building.

Responsibilities

- Operate the filler, sealer, and date coder; fill, code, label, and case finished product
- Palletize, wrap, and stage finished goods for cold storage
- Clean and sanitize packaging line; complete pre-operational checks
- Complete production and sanitation records accurately, in real time
- Follow GMPs, HACCP procedures, and all documented SOPs
- Pitch in across the plant as needed — in a small operation, everyone ends up wearing a few hats!
- Prospect to train into the earlier stages of production — raw milk receiving, pasteurizing, and incubation after probation. If suitable, we will cover the costs of the course training (FOOD1151 & FOOD2151) and licensing to get your dairy workers license.

Qualifications

- No experience needed; prior food or manufacturing work is a bonus, not a requirement
- A sense of ownership — you notice when something isn't right and deal with it instead of walking past it
- High hygiene standards and close attention to detail — you don't cut corners on sanitation,



even at the end of a long shift
- Comfortable with basic math, and able to follow written procedures and record data accurately in English
- Operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs and stay on your feet, bending and reaching, for a full shift
- Comfortable in wet conditions and coolers (~2°C)
- Reliable and punctual, available during weekdays
- Your own steel-toed waterproof boots
- FOODSAFE Level 1 preferred but not required, and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Flexible on start times — typically between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Our start times shift with the production schedule, so this one is a real requirement. We confirm your shifts a week ahead, but we can't guarantee the same start time every week. Occasional night shift starting around 10:00 PM may be required.
