Flooring Sales Associate

We are looking for a knowledgeable, sales-driven Flooring Sales Associate to help customers choose the right flooring, conduct in-home estimates, convert leads into sales, and support daily retail store operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Sell flooring: Recommend and sell hardwood, vinyl, and laminate flooring based on each customer’s needs, preferences, budget, and intended use.
- Assist showroom customers: Welcome walk-in customers, explain product differences, present samples, and guide them through the purchasing process.
- Conduct in-home estimates: Visit customers’ properties, take accurate measurements, discuss project requirements, and identify installation considerations.
- Prepare quotes: Calculate material quantities and prepare clear, accurate quotes covering flooring, accessories, delivery, and installation where applicable.
- Contact and follow up with leads: Respond promptly to inquiries, call prospective customers, send quotes, and follow up consistently to move opportunities toward a sale.
- Close sales: Address customer concerns, explain product value, negotiate within approved pricing guidelines, and secure orders and deposits.
- Recommend complementary products: Identify opportunities to sell suitable underlayment, transitions, mouldings, stair components, and other flooring accessories.
- Maintain customer records: Keep lead details, measurements, quotes, follow-up notes, and order information organized and up to date.
- Coordinate orders and installations: Work with suppliers, delivery teams, and installers to confirm availability, communicate timelines, and keep projects moving.
- Support store operations: Process payments, assist with stock checks, organize samples, replenish displays, and maintain a clean,



welcoming showroom.
- Provide after-sales support: Keep customers informed about their orders, explain product care and warranty information, and help resolve concerns.
- Meet sales targets: Manage your sales pipeline, prioritize follow-ups, and work toward agreed sales and customer service goals.

Requirements

- Must have robust flooring knowledge and confidently explain and sell hardwood, vinyl, and laminate products.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle for in-home appointments.
- Previous sales experience is required, preferably in flooring, home improvement, renovation, or building materials.
- Must be comfortable taking measurements, calculating square footage and material requirements, and preparing estimates.
- Strong communication, customer service, negotiation, and closing skills are essential.
- Must be organized, proactive, and comfortable using email, quoting software, POS systems, and customer tracking tools.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
