Key Responsibilities

Sampling & Technical Field Support

Field Sampling: Collect diverse environmental samples in a timely fashion; ensure all bottles are meticulously labelled and prepared.

Lab Coordination: Communicate proactively with external labs to order bottle sets in advance and provide precise labelling and chain-of-custody information.

Air & Noise Monitoring: Assist in air quality and noise sample collection. Complete quarterly High-Volume (hivol) air sampler calibrations and coordinate annual external certifications.

Download and transfer noise data offsite for processing.

Water & Hydrology Monitoring: Assist with stream gauging and groundwater data collection. Install staff gauges, data loggers, and field instrumentation to optimize safety and efficiency. Coordinate troubleshooting directly with hydrologists and consultants.

Compliance & Waste Analysis: Execute regular environmental compliance sampling and coordinate waste rock sample analysis

Equipment Maintenance: Order field equipment, update calibration logs, and collaborate with the Environmental Specialist to cross-reference field and lab data to identify instrument drift. Create maintenance notifications as required.

Training & SOPs: Assist in updating field procedures and train the broader environmental team on standard protocols, permits, and regulations

Data Management & Quality Assurance





Environmental Databases: accurately enter field and laboratory data for compliance reporting.

Tracking & Sustainability: Maintain the waste tracking database and log wildlife observations/incidents within MS Access.

Regulatory Record Keeping: Update monthly sustainability tracking metrics (including GHG emissions, water usage, and material movement) and maintain precise Permit to Take Water (PTTW) records.

What you need

College diploma or University degree in Environmental Technology, Environmental Science, Hydrology, or a closely related discipline.

Experience: Experience in environmental monitoring, preferably within an industrial, mining, or consulting capacity.

Data Proficiency: Strong computer skills with exposure to environmental data management systems (experience with EQuIS, MS Access, or Excel databases is highly an asset).

Technical Aptitude: Proven experience calibrating and maintaining environmental field equipment and instrumentation.Rotation Readiness: Ability to successfully work a 14-on, 14-off 12-hour shifts in remote northern environments This is a camp rotation

Core Skills: Exceptional organization, prioritization skills to balance heavy fieldwork with rigorous data logging, and a proactive attitude toward site safety.
