COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Based in Calgary, On Track Controls is a global railway electronics manufacturing company. We have highly skilled and established design and manufacturing teams have been delivering industrial electronic product designs to the rail market for the last 20 years. ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a full-time Electronics Project Designer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will lead electrical engineering projects, provide technical expertise, and support our internal production team with the manufacturing of our products. In this role, you will create and maintain electrical schematics / layouts and assemble validation / production-level test procedures to ensure that the final product meets performance criteria. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining product lines and mitigating supply chain constraints by sourcing alternative components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement analog and digital circuits for control systems.
- Maintain and modernize existing products.
- Assist production, engineering, and marketing departments.
- Create schematics, bill of materials, and production documentation.
- Design printed circuit boards and define requirements for enclosures.
- Build and test prototypes boards and assemblies.
- Maintain CAD libraries, programs, and processes as required.
- Collaborate with firmware teams during development of new products.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers in best practices and company procedures.
- Provide production support for new and existing projects.
- Provide occasional field support as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ACADEMIC:
- Graduated from a recognized post-secondary program in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electronic productdevelopment.
- (5+ years with demonstrated leadership preferred).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS & ASSETS:
- Registered Professional Member in good standing with APEGA/ASET/other provincial body.
- Proficiency with analog signal processing, control systems and power electronics including switching power supplies.
- Working knowledge of embedded systems and microprocessors.
- Experience with schematic drawing and printed circuit board layout using Altium Designer or KiCad.
- Well-versed in version control systems (i.e. Git) and proficient in developing product test procedures / end-user documentation.
- Familiarity with designing electronic enclosures and graphics.
- Ability to troubleshoot engineering problems both in a production setting and in the field.
- Experience with ISO procedures and standards

Pay: $100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
