Estimating & Design Coordinator - Scope Analysis and Budgeting

Hours: Fulltime, 40 hours per week

PlayQuest Recreation is a leader in commercial playground, spray park, shelters, skateparks, and park amenity sales and installation in western Canada, with our head office in Edmonton. We are growing and are seeking a team member experienced in estimating, layout drawings, proposals and construction processes.

This position is within our Estimating & Design department, as an Estimating & Design Coordinator, with a special focus on collaborating with and being a resource to other Estimating & Design Coordinators as they define project scopes of work and create corresponding budgets. Success in this role requires:

- a robust understanding of construction processes and landscape practices
- the ability to create scopes of work from client specifications and technical documents
- advanced competency in Excel, and proficiency with software generally

Generally, the responsibilities of this position are as follows:

- Responsible for the creation & management of drawings, renderings and documentation, in collaboration with our suppliers, to create playground, spray park, shelter, amenity, and skatepark designs
- Provide technical information to members of the estimating team sales staff and other external clients (landscape architects and engineers) via telephone, email, and Teams.
- Complete proposals using Adobe Suite and Proposify, including estimating/quotes in Quickbooks for the sales team.
- Review project bid and tender documentation, specifications and drawings as required,



for both your own and other estimating team members projects
- Source and collaborate with suppliers and develop relationships with sub-contractors or material suppliers as required to properly define and estimate a project
- Diligently maintain and update CRM as projects progress.

Qualifications:

- Technical academic background. Post-secondary degree or diploma in a mechanical, civil, architecture or landscape architecture program is required.
- 2 to 3 years construction experience (in the landscape/irrigation/automation industries are an asset) *in the last 5-8 years*
- Customer Service experience is an asset
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems is an asset

Skills:

- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe Platforms (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design)
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- **Extreme proficiency in managing multiple technical tasks and projects, meeting fast and tight deadlines.
- Self driven with the ability to create new process to streamline work management.
- Willing to learn new programs
- Mechanically Inclined
