In this position, you will meticulously review, organize, and ensure the completeness of medical records, supporting clinical teams and administrative staff in delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help streamline documentation processes and uphold compliance standards across our healthcare facility.
Duties
- Review and verify medical records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with established guidelines
- Organize and categorize patient documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems to facilitate easy retrieval
- Ensure all medical records adhere to privacy regulations and confidentiality protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify or update incomplete or ambiguous documentation
- Maintain detailed logs of reviewed records and document any discrepancies or issues identified during audits
- Assist in preparing records for audits, legal requests, or insurance claims by ensuring proper documentation standards are met
- Support ongoing training initiatives related to recordkeeping procedures and compliance standards
- Data transfer from PDF documents to word documents ensuring proper dates, locations, providers, and services administered are recorded
Requirements
- Must be located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to start for training. Remote work available after training.
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital documentation tools
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and reports
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clinical staff and administrative teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards
