Quality Inspector – CNC Machine Shop
Source Machine is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support our CNC machining operations in Edmonton. This is a hands-on shop-floor quality role focused primarily on in-process and final inspection of precision machined components.
The Quality Inspector will work closely with machinists, leads, and production staff to verify parts meet drawing, customer, and internal quality requirements. This position is well suited to someone with a strong machining or manufacturing background who is comfortable working in a fast-paced production workplace.
Responsibilities
- Perform final inspections on completed machined components prior to release for shipping or additional processing.
- Perform in-process inspections to support CNC production and identify quality concerns before parts are completed.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T;, and customer specifications.
- Inspect dimensional features using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Verify critical dimensions, threads, surface requirements, and other drawing specifications.
- Accurately complete inspection reports and maintain required quality documentation and traceability.
- Identify and clearly communicate non-conforming conditions to machinists, leads, and Quality personnel.
- Work directly with Production to resolve inspection questions and prevent continued production of non-conforming parts.
- Follow established inspection procedures, sampling requirements, and quality processes.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure gauges are handled and stored properly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machining quality, inspection methods, and reducing scrap and rework.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional inspection area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Machinist, or CNC Inspector in a machining or precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret machining drawings and dimensional tolerances.
- Practical understanding of GD&T; and precision measurement.
- Strong experience using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Understanding of CNC machining processes, including turning and/or milling, is strongly preferred.
- Ability to independently inspect production parts and make accurate pass/fail decisions based on drawing requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Comfortable working directly with machinists and production staff in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system is considered an asset.

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
