Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Garage Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and openers, ensuring safety and functionality for our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of construction-related tasks, technical schematics, and the ability to work with various hand tools. Must be comfortable with working safely from heights. Candidates with experience in carpentry, blueprint reading, and restoration are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects in residential and commercial settings, contributing to the safety and convenience of our customers’ properties. Training will also be provided.

Duties

- Install, repair, and replace garage doors and openers according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Use hand tools such as drills, wrenches, and screwdrivers to complete installations and repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate work execution
- Perform maintenance tasks including lubrication, calibration, and adjustments for optimal operation
- Conduct inspections to identify issues related to door alignment, springs, cables, and hardware
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to prevent water intrusion and improve insulation




- Assist with restoration projects involving construction painting, flooring installation, tile laying, plumbing, welding, or carpentry as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding service needs and provide professional guidance on maintenance

Qualifications

- Proven experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, or related trades preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
- Knowledge of garage door systems including springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and openers
- Familiarity with caulking techniques, restoration processes, construction painting, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent physical stamina for lifting heavy components and working in various positions
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between job sites
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace
