Premiere Vancouver Island Spa Destination

Kingfisher Pacific Resort and Spa is an award-winning destination nestled in a stunning oceanfront setting. Renowned for its panoramic views, exceptional amenities, and commitment to genuine hospitality, the resort offers guests a rejuvenating escape with world-class spa experiences, exquisite dining, and breathtaking natural surroundings. We are dedicated to creating memorable moments for our guests and fostering a vibrant, positive team environment.

Kingfisher Pacific Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced, senior-level Marketing Manager to lead the resort's marketing function for an 18-month maternity leave coverage, with the possibility of extension. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for executing the FY26–27 Marketing Plan (September 2026–September 2027) and the resort's day-to-day marketing operations, while stewarding the brand through a pivotal year of distribution.

Under the current Marketing Manager, Kingfisher underwent a full brand refresh both on-site and online in close partnership with a creative agency; launched a new resort website; and supported the successful launch of a new spa circuit experience, alongside sustained investment in local and international visibility. This role will build directly on that foundation, and the successful candidate will be expected to protect and evolve the brand platform that has been established.

FY26–27 marks a strategic shift for Kingfisher: alongside its established marketing programs (digital, content, PR, print, broadcast, and experiential), the resort is formalizing a new distribution strategy to diversify beyond organic, marketing-led bookings ahead of the resort's 50th anniversary in three years.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Marketing Leadership

- Own and execute the FY26–27 Marketing Plan across digital, content, PR, print, broadcast, experiential, and sales channels, adjusting tactics as performance data and business needs evolve.
- Act as the day-to-day guardian of the Kingfisher Pacific Resort & Spa brand and sub-brands (Pacific Mist Spa, Ocean7 Restaurant and AQUA Bistro and Wine Bar across all touch points, maintaining the consistency and quality established through the resort's recent full re-brand (on-site and online).
- Identify and act on new revenue generating opportunities as they arise, beyond what is scheduled in the plan or timeline bringing creative, solution oriented thinking to ongoing business requirements.
- Report against KPIs and adapt strategy based on results.

Distribution

- Manage the resort's relationship with external agency overseeing the agreed scope of work through on-boarding (Q1) and trade show activation (Q2–Q3).
- Support selection and integration of a new channel manager/central booking system, ensuring Google tag/ROI tracking is a mandatory requirement of any vendor solution.
- Coordinate Kingfisher's presence at Trade Shows and other identified travel trade or corporate shows (e.g., Rendez-vous Canada, Venue Series), including registration, appointment preparation, and follow-up.
- Build and formalize relationships with tour operators, travel agents, and RTOs; work toward the company’s goal of at least two new international tour-operator agreements by September 2027.
- Coordinate familiarization (FAM)

trips for advisors and tour operator representatives, and develop trade-facing sales materials (rate sheets, sell sheets, image/video assets).
- Explore and recommend B2B opportunities as the channel manager comes online.

Content, Digital & Brand

- Direct in-house content production (photography, videography, drone footage) in line with the FY26–27 content budget, coordinating photographers and other creative partners as needed.
- Oversee digital marketing execution: paid search, paid social, SEO and domain authority initiatives, and website CRO, in partnership with the resort's digital agency.
- Maintain and evolve the social media editorial calendar and monthly newsletter program across all channels.
- Manage the resort's PR program and earned media strategy, including press trips, FAM tours, influencer collaborations, and tourism board partnerships.

Campaign, Promotions & Cross-Functional Coordination

- Launch resort packages on a rolling monthly basis (e.g., seasonal stay packages, spa circuit promotions, Gift Card campaigns), aligned to booking pace and seasonality.
- Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Spa, and Front Desk teams on menu launches, seasonal offers, gift card inventory, and cross departmental promotions.
- Manage print, radio, BC transit, and broadcast advertising placements and partner relationships (e.g., Chek TV, regional radio stations, BC transit advertising).
- Oversee recurring guest engagement programs (e.g., photo contests) and experiential/in office marketing initiatives.
- Lead the internal purchasing audit and sustainable purchasing policy project through to completion.

Budget & Reporting

- Manage the marketing budget responsibly against approved allocations, reporting variances and reallocating spend based on performance, as demonstrated in the prior fiscal year.
- Prepare regular performance updates and an annual report / marketing plan, including a comprehensive review of bookings, traffic, and travel trade metrics.
- Support the hand-off and transition planning back to the returning Marketing Manager.

What We're Looking For

Required

- 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in hospitality, resort, travel, or a related premium/lifestyle sector, including senior or managerial level experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing an integrated marketing budget across digital, content, PR, print, and broadcast channels.
- Experience working with external agencies, and managing multi-stakeholder projects to deadline.
- Strong working knowledge of digital marketing fundamentals (paid search, paid social, SEO, website CRO) and marketing analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing b2b and b2c facing content and materials.
- Ability to travel periodically for trade shows, FAM trips, and industry events.
- Genuine adaptability and creative,

solution oriented problem solving, with the judgment to respond to new projects and ongoing business or revenue needs that fall outside the existing marketing plan and schedule.
- We operate in the hospitality industry, availability to work weekends and peak season, including statutory holidays, summer and Christmas holidays, can be discussed on rotation.

Preferred

- Experience with travel trade, tour operator relations, or B2B/group sales channels.
- Experience with a resort or hotel PMS, channel manager, or central booking system implementation.
- Familiarity with the BC/Pacific Northwest tourism landscape and key regional media, tourism boards, and industry partners.
- Experience contributing to a brand refresh, re-brand, or website relaunch.
