Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of the School of Nursing, and under the supervision of the School Administrator, the Undergraduate Administrator acts as the first point of contact for the School of Nursing, receiving all general inquiries from faculty, staff, students and the general public.

The Undergraduate Administrator is responsible for the administration of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and performs general office administration functions for the School, supporting both students and faculty throughout the academic lifecycle – from recruitment to graduation. The incumbent provides student advising, in-program administration, event support, and graduation process support while ensuring compliance with University, Faculty, and program regulations.

The Undergraduate Administrator provides support to faculty and instructors by providing timely advice and updates on any new policies, processes and timelines.
The Undergraduate Administrator assists with student, faculty, internal and external partner outreach by helping to organize events, providing information about outreach initiatives and updates through the appropriate digital channels, such as e-mail, newsletters, website updates and social media posts.

Working in a collaborative environment, the Undergraduate Administrator supports the smooth operations of the School, by assisting with general office administration, special projects, and providing support to other positions during high-peak periods and absences.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- A demonstrated ability to review, interpret and stay current with academic policies, the Undergraduate Calendar, procedures and processes.
- Knowledge of student support offices and programs on campus in order to make effective referrals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills to

effectively participate in recruitment activities, promotion of the department's programs and




to interact with the department's faculty, staff and students.

- The ability to work in a diverse unit with knowledge of cultural competencies.
- Effective time management, with excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while successfully paying attention to detail.
- Solid interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy with the demonstrated ability to remain calm and work with a professional demeanor while working under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, with strong initiative, research and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills including expertise in the use of the MS Suite; software database systems and custom software such as Banner and website maintenance software, such as cuTheme.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- Completion of a three-year university degree.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting, in roles of increasing responsibility.
