Industrial Formwork Carpenters – Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Bird Construction is hiring experienced industrial formwork carpenters for the Dow Fort Saskatchewan project.
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Six 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Saturday
Shifts: Days and nights available
Night-Shift Premium: Additional $3.00 per hour

Day Shift
- 40 Journeyperson Carpenters
- Fourth-Year Apprentice Carpenters
- Third-Year Apprentice Carpenters
Night Shift
- Journeyperson Carpenters
- Fourth-Year Apprentice Carpenters
- Third-Year Apprentice Carpenters
Living-Out Allowance and Travel Assistance
- $170 LOA per workday
- LOA is available only to workers whose primary residence is at least 120 kilometres outside Fort Saskatchewan, subject to the project’s eligibility map
- Travel assistance is currently available to eligible workers travelling from British Columbia or Saskatchewan
- $250 travel allowance to the project and $250 for the return trip
- Total travel assistance of up to $500 per rotation
Required Experience
Applicants must:
- Have previous industrial construction-site experience
- Have concrete formwork experience
- Be experienced with repetitive formwork tasks and movements
- Be comfortable working in confined spaces and excavations
- Be able to work safely at heights
- Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing work involving frequent bending and twisting
- Be physically capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position
- Have experience with PERI or Symons formwork systems; this is strongly preferred
Required Safety Certifications
- CSTS 2020
- ESC Fall Protection
- ESC Confined Space
