Join a practice built for depth.
If couples work is the part of your week that you look forward to, you may also be the only person at your clinic who feels that way. Holding two people in a room is its own kind of work, and it’s harder still when there’s no one to think it through with afterward.
At Oceanside, you wouldn’t be doing this work alone.
Oceanside Psychology Group is a psychologist-led, fee-for-service private psychotherapy practice conveniently located at 3292 Production Way in Burnaby, BC, right next to the Production Way-University SkyTrain Station. We provide individual, couples, and family therapy to youth and adults, in person and online across BC.
This position can be fully virtual from anywhere in British Columbia. If you’re in the Lower Mainland, you can also work in person from our Burnaby office, or combine in-person and virtual work.
What depth looks like here
Many of our therapists work from relational, experiential, and attachment-informed models. We’re known for Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples, and for work that gets to the root of what hurts rather than moving people through quickly.
That commitment to depth shows up in practical ways. We run monthly clinical and EFT consultation groups, so your hardest sessions get thought through with colleagues who do the same work. Because we’re psychologist-led, the consultation and mentorship you receive come from people who understand couples work firsthand.
What you can count on
- A steady flow of referrals from our ongoing advertising, so you’re not building a caseload from scratch
- Scheduling and administration handled, so your energy goes to the therapy room
- Monthly clinical and EFT consultation groups, alongside colleagues who care about this work as much as you do
- Supervision if you’re working toward CHCPBC licensure
- Your choice of location: work from home, from our Burnaby office, or both
- A beautiful modern office with large windows, and a free on-site gym,
if you choose to work in office
- A secure cloud-based EHR, so you can complete notes from anywhere
Who we’re hoping to hear from
You have experience working with couples, and you want it to be a substantial part of your caseload, not the occasional client. You want to build long-term therapeutic relationships, and a long-term place to do that.
Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples is a strong asset, though not required. What matters more is that you work from a relational, experiential, or attachment-informed lens, and that you want to do work with real depth.
Our ideal Associate Clinician commits to three six-hour shifts per week and carries a caseload of at least 15 client sessions per week. A two-day commitment may also be considered depending on availability and scheduling needs.

Please note: Candidates who do not meet the qualifications below will not be considered.

Compensation and hours

On-site shifts run Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm or 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Weekend hours are flexible within an 8:00 am to 8:00 pm window.
