The Prospect

Augury Healthcare is currently recruiting an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support our client, a specialized cardiology and diagnostic imaging provider operating multiple locations throughout Calgary.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality nuclear cardiology services, with a primary focus on myocardial perfusion imaging and cardiac stress testing.

This opportunity is well suited to a technologist who is confident working independently, communicates effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will work closely with cardiologists, physicians, technologists, nurses, administrative staff, and other members of the healthcare team while supporting safe, efficient, and patient-focused diagnostic services.

Compensation

$45–$50 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and assignment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform myocardial perfusion imaging and other nuclear cardiology procedures
- Prepare, handle, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established protocols
- Perform radiopharmacy procedures and related quality control testing
- Conduct routine quality control procedures on nuclear medicine equipment
- Prepare patients for diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations
- Review patient history, medications, and relevant contraindications prior to procedures
- Explain procedures clearly and professionally to patients
- Perform rest, stress, and redistribution imaging
- Assist with or perform exercise cardiac stress testing within scope
- Assist with pharmacological stress testing under appropriate medical direction
- Monitor patients throughout procedures
- Operate gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment
- Ensure images meet required diagnostic and technical quality standards
- Follow established image acquisition, processing, and documentation protocols
- Maintain accurate patient and procedural records
- Follow radiation safety principles, including ALARA practices
- Maintain appropriate radioactive material records
- Support equipment quality assurance requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical workplace
- Follow infection prevention and control practices
- Work collaboratively with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Follow departmental policies, procedures,



and the nuclear cardiology procedure manual
- Complete other related duties as required

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

- Graduation from a recognized Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Current registration and membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
- Current CPR certification
- Eligibility to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Alberta
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiation safety, and quality assurance standards
- Ability to safely prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals within professional scope
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Preferred Experience

Preference may be given to candidates with:

- Previous nuclear cardiology experience
- Myocardial perfusion imaging experience
- Exercise stress testing experience
- Pharmacological cardiac stress testing experience
- Experience operating gamma cameras and nuclear medicine imaging systems
- Previous experience in a cardiology clinic, diagnostic imaging centre, hospital, or outpatient setting
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine quality control procedures
- Experience working across multiple clinical locations

This role involves regular interaction with patients undergoing cardiac investigations and requires a strong commitment to patient comfort, education, safety, and professionalism.
