Kitchen Porter

The Berczy Tavern is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining the overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the restaurant. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all areas of the restaurant are kept clean and maintained to a high standard throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain the cleanliness of the entire restaurant, including:
- Dining room and guest areas
- Main bar and bar areas
- Kitchen and dish area
- Bathrooms and washrooms
- Staff areas, change rooms, and offices
- Back-of-house and storage areas
- Floors, walls, doors, and other common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors throughout the restaurant.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms regularly, ensuring they are fully stocked and maintained to a high standard.
- Clean and maintain staff areas, including change rooms and staff facilities.
- Keep dining room and guest-facing areas clean, organized, and presentable.
- Empty garbage and recycling throughout the restaurant and maintain waste areas.
- Complete daily and regular deep-cleaning duties as assigned.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils,



and kitchen equipment throughout service.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area.
- Assist the kitchen team with minor food preparation and basic prep jobs when required.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and putting away products when needed.
- Follow all restaurant cleaning, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Communicate any maintenance, cleanliness, or supply issues to management.
- Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous restaurant, cleaning, or kitchen experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Comfortable performing physical tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Able to work independently and manage cleaning responsibilities throughout a shift.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced restaurant environment.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 44.0 per week
