Cornerstones Special Needs Services is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and confident Manager to provide daily floor leadership within ADS.
This is a Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. position. The successful candidate will lead day-to-day staff and participant care while ensuring a protected, engaging, respectful, and well-organized program environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide consistent, visible, and hands-on leadership on the program floor each day.
· Supervise and support up to 20+ staff per day and up to 40–60 participants with diverse support needs.
· Maintain a strong management presence during transitions, meals, outings, high-needs supports, and other key parts of the day.
· Ensure meaningful, inclusive, and person-centred daily activities are planned, appropriately staffed, and carried out effectively.
· Ensure participant records are complete, organized, securely maintained, and compliant with confidentiality, privacy, and ministry requirements.
· Support staff in delivering high-quality care in accordance with individual support plans, behaviour support plans, medication requirements, and organizational policies.
· Provide behavioural support and coaching to staff using proactive, respectful, and person-centred approaches.
· Manage staff performance, attendance, scheduling concerns, coaching, and day-to-day accountability.
· Conduct staff evaluations, probationary reviews, coaching meetings, and related follow-up documentation.
· Assist with staff orientation, training, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
· Lead morning briefs and manager meetings, communicating daily expectations, staffing needs, participant updates, and program priorities.
· Manage interpersonal conflict professionally, addressing concerns early, respectfully, and consistently.
· Respond to crisis situations, provide staff direction, and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up.
· Review, support, and follow up on incident reports in a timely manner.
· Promote health and safety initiatives, including emergency procedures, workplace violence prevention, infection control, safe lifting, and required reporting.
· Complete light administrative duties related to daily operations, staff supervision, incident reporting, supplies, program planning, compliance, expense tracking, and reconciliations.
· Work collaboratively with the Administrative/Family Manager to ensure consistent communication and coordinated support for participants and families.
· Cover management responsibilities when the other Manager is absent.
· Foster a positive, accountable, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace culture.
· Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
· High emotional intelligence, cultural competency, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
· Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
- Diploma in a Human Services discipline.
- Minimum two years of management or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience supervising teams of 10+ staff; experience leading larger teams is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, complex needs, dual diagnosis, mental health concerns, and/or responsive behaviours.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour support, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and incident management.
- Current CPI/NVCI certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain certification before the start date.
- Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Demonstrated leadership, training, coaching, and staff-development experience.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, documentation standards, health and safety, participant rights, and ministry requirements.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, email, incident reporting, administrative documentation, and expense tracking.
· Strong Crisis management skills
· Commitment to advocacy

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
