Trucking Dispatcher / Transportation Dispatcher

Protrans Personnel Services is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Trucking Dispatcher on behalf of a well-established transportation company in the Wellington County area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, customer-focused transportation professional who enjoys coordinating drivers, managing schedules, solving operational challenges, and supporting a busy trucking operation. This is a company-fleet dispatch position focused on dispatching company drivers and equipment, customer communication, and ensuring transportation commitments are successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispatch company drivers and communicate daily work assignments.
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointment times, and customer requirements.
- Monitor load status, driver locations, and estimated arrival times (ETAs).
- Provide customers with timely shipment updates and professional service.
- Monitor Driver Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Coordinate equipment availability with maintenance personnel.
- Respond to delays, breakdowns, weather events, border crossings, and other transportation challenges.
- Assist with customs and cross-border shipment documentation where applicable.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, transportation documentation, and customer notes.
- Work closely with drivers, customers, maintenance personnel, and operations teams.
- Participate in the overnight and weekend on-call rotation.
- Support company safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

- Experience using PC*Miler, Google Maps, or route-planning software.
- Familiarity with dispatch, GPS, ELD, or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Schedule

This position operates on a rotating dispatch schedule:

- 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Participation in an overnight and weekend on-call rotation is required for time-sensitive operational matters including breakdowns, accidents, border issues, and service disruptions.
