Bradner Homes is an established custom home building company located in West Vancouver. We have been in business for over 30 years and are looking for an experienced Carpenter / Lead Hand to join our team.

This is a full-time, hands-on position working on high-end custom residential construction projects. We are looking for a seasoned construction professional with extensive residential construction and carpentry experience who is dependable, takes pride in their work and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a site team.

Role and Responsibilities

Working alongside our, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and trades, you will assist with the construction and installation of structures and fixtures, renovations, repairs and general site requirements.

This position requires someone with broad, practical construction knowledge who can move comfortably between skilled carpentry work and the day-to-day tasks required to keep a residential construction project moving.

Knowledge and Skills

- Minimum 10+ years of construction/carpentry experience
- Red Seal Carpenter certification preferred
- Extensive experience working in residential construction
- Strong carpentry and general construction skills
- Experience with framing, back framing and finishing carpentry
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, plans and drawings
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment
- Strong practical math and measurement skills

- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically capable of performing construction-related duties
- Solid commitment to job-site safety

Duties

- Framing and back framing
- Architectural forming
- Finishing carpentry
- Concrete preparation
- Construction and installation of structures and fixtures
- Renovations and repairs
- General construction and site support
- Assist Site Supervisors, subcontractors and trades as required
- Identify and complete minor repairs and deficiencies
- Material handling and organization
- Maintain clean, organized and safe job sites
- Other construction-related duties as required

Requirements

- Minimum 10+ years of relevant construction/carpentry experience
- Red Seal Carpenter certification preferred
- Experience in custom or high-end residential construction considered an asset
- Valid BC driver's licence
- Own reliable vehicle required
- Ability to travel between project sites as required

Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Typical site hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Compensation:

Competitive wage based on experience.

Pay: $18.25-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
