We are assisting with the recruitment of an experienced Business Development Manager to drive project-based sales growth across North America’s mining and heavy industrial sectors.
This is a home-office-based position with approximately 75% travel, focused on developing relationships with engineering firms, EPCs, OEMs, contractors, and major industrial end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop major project opportunities across mining, oil sands, potash, iron ore, critical minerals, ports, terminals, and other bulk material handling markets.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with engineering firms, EPCs, OEMs, contractors, and end users.
- Identify projects early and position products and solutions through the engineering and specification process.
- Develop new business through proactive field sales, networking, and market development.
- Qualify opportunities, coordinate quotations, and follow projects through to award.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming project opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales pipeline information.
- Collaborate with internal sales and technical teams to support successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Experience in business development, technical sales, project sales, or industrial sales.
- Experience within mining, heavy industrial, bulk material handling, manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Strong existing relationships within engineering, EPC, OEM, contractor, or industrial markets is an asset.
- Mechanical or engineering background is preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently from a home office.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Canada and the U.S.
- Strong organizational and CRM skills.
We are looking for a results-driven, relationship-focused business development professional who enjoys being in the field, developing new business, and identifying major industrial projects before they go to market. Existing industry contacts and experience with long-cycle project sales will be a strong advantage.
Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
