The role provides strategic leadership, organizational direction, and operational oversight to a team responsible for Drinking Water Safety, Climate Change and Health, Environmental Assessments, Public Health Engineering, and Food Security

Title: Senior Manager, Environmental Public Health Services
Salary: $114,892 - $128,409 - $155,443 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 8am- 4pm, flexible Mon- Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Alberni office, Metro Vancouver located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples,



including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil- Waututh Nations.

About the role

As a Senior Manager, Environmental Public Health Services you will provide senior level leadership and expertise to develop, oversee, and coordinate the implementation of policies, program objectives and standards, strategic and operational planning, program evaluation and performance of Environmental Public Health Services (EPHS) and programs. This position enables the successful implementation of the EPHS program to meet skilled standards, facilitate strategic partnerships, and drive transformation through evidence-based and culturally informed approaches.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have;

Education

- Master’s degree in environmental health or public health or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Certification

- Current certification with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).

Experience

- Recent, relevant and significant experience in managing diverse environmental public health programs and services and teams (usually acquired over a period of 8-10 years)
- Recent, relevant and significant experience in working with First Nation communities (usually acquired over a period of 8-10 years)

Knowledge

- Thorough knowledge of the current First Nations health governance landscape in BC

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
