Overview
A growing construction services company is seeking a senior Technical Sales Manager & Pre-Construction Specialist with strong expertise in commercial firestopping and passive fire protection. This role will lead front-end estimating, technical review, pre-construction planning, and relationship development with contractors, consultants, manufacturers, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead estimating, takeoffs, pricing, and proposals for complex commercial firestopping projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and life-safety requirements.
- Identify appropriate tested firestop systems and potential technical issues before construction.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Develop relationships with general contractors, consultants, manufacturers, and industry partners.
- Support business development, tender strategy, and contract discussions.
- Facilitate the handoff from estimating/pre-construction to project operations.
- Maintain current knowledge of firestop systems, codes, manufacturers, and industry practices.





Qualifications

- Significant commercial firestopping/passive fire protection experience.
- Solid estimating and drawing/specification interpretation skills.
- Knowledge of tested assemblies, submittals, and construction documentation.
- Strong communication, technical, and relationship-building abilities.
- FCIA training/membership, manufacturer certifications, or engineering judgment experience are assets.

Experience developing or supporting engineering judgments

- Familiarity with third-party firestop inspection requirements
- Other relevant firestop industry programs

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- commercial firestopping/passive fire protection : 3 years (required)
