What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Purchasing, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our manufacturing operations have the right aluminum extrusion profiles at the right time. You'll analyze production requirements, forecast material demand, manage inventory levels, and coordinate purchases from both domestic and offshore suppliers.

Working closely with Production, Planning, and Operations, you'll help optimize inventory, control material costs, and keep production running efficiently through informed purchasing decisions and robust supplier management.

Your day may include:

Production Planning & Purchasing

- Review production schedules and upcoming customer orders to determine aluminum extrusion & related manufacturing input requirements.
- Forecast future extrusion & related manufacturing input demand based on production plans and sales forecasts.
- Determine purchasing quantities and timing to support manufacturing.




- Prepare and issue purchase orders to domestic and international extrusion suppliers.
- Monitor supplier lead times and adjust purchasing plans as required.
- Cost analysis on domestic vs offshore extrusions with balance ordering to keep both options open

Inventory Management

- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for all extrusion & related manufacturing input profiles.
- Balance inventory investment with production requirements.
- Monitor inventory usage and identify slow-moving or excess stock
- Recommend inventory adjustments to improve inventory turns while maintaining service levels.
- Participate in inventory counts and ensure inventory accuracy.

Supplier Management

- Build and maintain strong relationships with extrusion suppliers.
- Coordinate delivery schedules to meet production needs.
- Work with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or supply issues.
- Monitor supplier performance for quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for lower-cost sourcing, including offshore suppliers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Production, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance.
- Communicate potential material shortages or supply risks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing and inventory management.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory information within the ERP system.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a proactive, analytical,



and detail-oriented purchasing professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, confident making data-driven decisions, and able to balance production requirements, inventory levels, and supplier relationships to keep operations running efficiently.

You'll Be a Great Fit If You:

- Have 5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, production planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Have experience purchasing aluminum extrusions, metals, or similar manufactured products (strong asset).
- Have experience managing supplier relationships, purchase orders, and inventory levels.
- Are proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Understand inventory management principles and demand planning.
- Have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can make sound purchasing decisions based on forecasting, lead times, and inventory requirements.

Bonus Points If You:

- Have experience working for a manufacturing company importing aluminum from Asia.

Compensation Details: $65-75K
