Position Purpose

The Counter Sales/Warehouse Associate supports customers and the branch team through accurate order processing, reliable warehouse service and a strong customer-first attitude. The role combines counter and telephone sales with receiving, picking, shipping, showroom upkeep and general branch support.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Sales

- Serve customers at the trade counter and over the phone in a quick, accurate and courteous manner.
- Process customer orders, inquiries, returns and basic quotations.
- Build positive relationships with customers and vendors.
- Recommend suitable products or alternatives and help identify additional sales opportunities.
- Follow customer requests through to completion and keep customers informed.

Warehouse and Inventory Support

- Receive incoming material accurately and put stock away in the correct location.
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders and branch transfers for shipment.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe warehouse, showroom and counter area.
- Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy and the investigation of stock discrepancies.




- Handle material carefully and report damaged or incorrect shipments promptly.

Branch and Network Support

- Assist with customer deliveries when required and authorized.
- Work closely with the branch sales team to prioritize customer requirements.
- Coordinate with other CES branches to support customers across the network.
- Follow company safety, operational and customer service procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

- Previous customer service, sales, warehouse or electrical industry experience is preferred.
- A positive attitude, reliability and the desire to learn are essential.
- Valid driver’s licence is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems.

Physical Requirements

This is an active role requiring regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and climbing. The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
