We are looking for an accomplished CFO to lead the financial strategy and oversight of our organization in Cambridge, Ontario. This executive role will guide financial reporting, forecasting, and operational analysis while strengthening the finance function to support sustainable growth. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the finance team and serve as a trusted partner to business leaders across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization’s overall financial direction, ensuring strong governance, accurate reporting, and sound decision-making across the business.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, shareholder updates, tax filings, and reports required by regulatory bodies.
- Manage core finance operations, including accounting, costing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and consolidated reporting for multiple locations.
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, and communicate financial results to internal leadership and the parent organization.
- Guide cash flow planning, treasury activities, credit oversight, and financial risk management to protect the company’s financial position.
- Build and maintain effective internal controls, financial policies, and administrative procedures that support compliance and operational discipline.
- Deliver meaningful performance analysis on revenue, margins, expenses, and profitability by comparing results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Partner with department leaders to develop budgets, business plans, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and organizational alignment.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering an engaged culture focused on timely processing, high-quality analysis, and dependable business support.
- Represent the company in financial matters with lenders, insurers, external accountants, and government agencies as needed.
- Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role with accountability for finance, reporting, forecasting, and controllership.
- Robust knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, cash flow management, and performance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams while building strong partnerships across functional departments.
- Experience overseeing accounting operations such as costing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial consolidations.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP, or JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, risk management, contract administration, and compliance reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly to executives, external stakeholders, and parent organizations.
