ABOUT NUMBERS CABARET
Numbers Cabaret is Vancouver’s longest-running gay bar and nightclub, serving the LGBTQ2S+ community on Davie Street since 1980.

Our multi-level venue features DJs, dancing, drag shows, karaoke, special events, private functions, and community events. We operate in a fast-paced nightlife environment and are looking for an experienced bartender who can provide quick, friendly, and consistent service while maintaining strong bar standards.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are hiring a Part-Time Bartender for approximately 1 to 3 shifts per week.

This position is best suited for someone with previous nightclub or high-volume bar experience who is comfortable working independently behind a bar, managing busy service periods, and maintaining speed, accuracy, and guest service throughout late-night shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and serve beer, highballs, shots, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages quickly and consistently.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service during regular and high-volume periods.
- Prepare cocktails according to Numbers recipes, pour standards, and service procedures.
- Operate the TouchBistro POS system and accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions.
- Complete assigned opening duties, including counting your till, checking inventory and stock levels, checking fruit and supplies, setting up your well, and ensuring your station is fully ready before doors open.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar throughout your shift.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service requirements.




- Recognize when service should be refused or a guest should be cut off, and communicate concerns promptly with security and management.
- Work closely with fellow bartenders, bussers, security, and management to keep service running efficiently.
- Complete bar cleaning, restocking, cash-out, and required closing duties before leaving.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with guests, coworkers, and management.

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 1-2 years of bartending experience in a nightclub, high-volume bar, late-night venue, or similar establishment.
- Valid and current BC Serving It Right certificate is required.
- Strong knowledge of standard cocktails, spirits, beer, and bar service.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong cash handling and POS skills.
- Able to maintain speed and accuracy while serving multiple guests.
- Reliable and punctual with consistent late-night availability.
- Strong communication, judgment, and customer service skills.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a busy, loud, multi-level nightclub environment.

SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position with approximately 1 to 3 shifts per week.

Numbers Cabaret generally operates:

Thursday: 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM
Friday: 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM
Saturday: 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM
Sunday: 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM

Bartending shifts begin 1 hour before doors open to complete bar setup and opening duties.





Shifts continue after closing until cash-out, cleaning, restocking, and closing duties are completed.

We occasionally open earlier for special events, private groups, and other booked functions. Earlier start times may occasionally be required.
