ICALC Learning Centre is a Christian tutoring school that provides high-quality academic support to students from Grades 1 to 12. We are committed to helping students develop strong literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills in a supportive learning setting.

Our weekly English classes are held in person and typically begin at 4:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday, with classes running throughout the day on Saturdays.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time English teachers to join our team. Applicants must currently reside in Canada and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation

- Performance-based year-end bonus
- Expected working hours: 5–15 hours per week

Academic and Other Qualifications

- Native-level English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum two years of teaching or tutoring experience.
- Experience teaching native English-speaking students in Canadian schools is strongly preferred.
- Experience in tutoring high school students is preferred.
- Experience teaching SAT, AP English, IB English is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Passion for helping students grow academically and personally.
- Ability to serve as a positive Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions.

Responsibilities





- Develop lesson plans independently based on student needs and learning goals.
- Teach English writing, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
- Assign and mark weekly homework.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Help students learn how to effectively organize and express their ideas in writing.
- Teach students to deliver short speeches, book reports, presentations, and other oral communication tasks commonly assigned in school.
- Prepare students for academic success in school and standardized assessments when appropriate.
- Maintain regular communication with the Academic Director regarding student progress.

Availability

- Tuesday to Friday evenings (typically beginning at 4:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.)
- Saturday availability is strongly preferred.
