About Highland Valley Copper
Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation, producing copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.
Located approximately 17 kilometres west of Logan Lake and 50 kilometres southwest of Kamloops, HVC offers access to city amenities, small-town communities and outdoor activities including biking, skiing, fishing and hiking.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair advanced mobile mining equipment: haul trucks (including autonomous CAT trucks), loaders, graders, dozers, and shovels
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues in a dynamic operational environment
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild key systems including engines, transmissions, and cooling components
- Work as part of a safety-first, high-performance team that supports growth, innovation, and collaboration
- Promote and uphold Teck's culture of safety every day
Qualifications
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck & Transport Mechanic
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with mining or heavy off-road equipment is an asset, but we welcome candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to learn
- Strong communication, a team-focused mindset, and a commitment to safety and quality
Compensation, Benefits and Working Conditions
Hourly wage: $56.61 / hour
Schedule: This position requires a 4x4 rotation consisting of two 12-hour days, a 24-hour turnaround, followed by two 12-hour nights and then four days off.
Relocation Support: Up to $10,000 for anyone outside the Kamloops region.
Access: This is a regular full-time, on-site, drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute by car, and carpooling is common.
