**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Shift:**
Day shift: Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (8-hour shifts),
Afternoon shift runs Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (10-hour shifts)
**Wage:**
20.40/hr
+ 1$ premium for afternoon
**Job Description**
The General Production Worker operates machinery to bend metal tracks for garage doors and supports various production activities within a manufacturing environment.
This role involves hands-on work with materials, equipment, and packaging processes to ensure products are prepared, bundled, and wrapped efficiently and safely.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate production machinery to bend metal tracks used in garage door manufacturing, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
+ Assist with banding and bundling of products, using both manual methods and an electric strapping machine to secure materials.
+ Perform shrink wrapping of bundles to prepare finished products for storage or shipment.
+ Carry out general production and assembly tasks as needed to support daily manufacturing operations.
+ Handle packaging activities to ensure products are properly prepared and labeled according to company standards.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing regular clean-up tasks and disposing of waste materials appropriately.
+ Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe lifting techniques.
+ Collaborate with other machine operators and team members to meet production targets and maintain workflow on the assigned shift.
+ Inspect materials and finished bundles for basic quality and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 6 months of experience in general labor, manufacturing, shop, or warehouse environments.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis while performing production and packaging tasks.
+ Experience with general labor tasks such as production, assembly, and packaging.
+ Comfort working with and around manufacturing machinery and equipment.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
+ Strong attention to safety and ability to use appropriate lifting and handling techniques.
+ Reliability and punctuality to support scheduled day or afternoon shifts.
+ Steel-toed work boots for use on the production floor.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting, particularly for metal or building products.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and meet daily targets.
+ Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using an electric strapping machine and shrink wrap equipment.
+ Willingness to work overtime when available to support production demands.
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team of operators on assigned shifts.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a manufacturing facility with a team-oriented production floor, including approximately 8 operators on the day shift and 7 operators on the night shift.
The environment involves working around machinery used to bend metal tracks, electric strapping equipment, and shrink wrap tools.
Employees perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and must wear steel-toed work boots as part of the dress code for safety on the production floor.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.40 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Abbotsford,BC.
