**The Opportunity**
The Director, Advanced Business Analytics leads Ally's alternative decision strategy capabilities, including automated counteroffers, the Ally Dealer Grid, and other acquisition solutions that expand approval opportunities while maintaining risk and profitability objectives.
This role is responsible for defining the strategy, roadmap, and performance of decisioning capabilities that improve dealer experience, customer outcomes, and portfolio performance.
**The Work Itself**
+ Lead the strategy, optimization, and performance management of Ally's alternative decision capabilities, including automated counteroffer programs, dealer-facing credit decision tools, and other acquisition strategies designed to expand approval opportunities while maintaining portfolio performance.
+ Own the strategic roadmap for decisioning capabilities such as the Ally Dealer Grid and automated counteroffer solutions, identifying opportunities to improve conversion, dealer adoption, customer experience, and profitability.
+ Develop and deploy acquisition strategies that balance growth, risk, and operational efficiency across the consumer underwriting lifecycle.
+ Partner with Credit Risk, Product, Technology, Operations, and Dealer Services teams to design, implement, and scale new decisioning capabilities.
+ Establish testing frameworks and champion-challenger methodologies to evaluate new credit policies, pricing approaches, counteroffer treatments, and dealer experience enhancements.
+ Monitor strategy performance through portfolio, operational, and dealer engagement metrics, identifying trends and driving continuous optimization.
+ Build business cases and executive recommendations that quantify expected volume, approval, loss, and profitability impacts of proposed decision strategy changes.
+ Lead prioritization and execution of technology enhancements required to support new alternative decisioning capabilities.
+ Work closely with underwriting and credit policy teams to ensure strategies remain aligned with risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and customer experience objectives.
+ Drive innovation through the use of alternative data, advanced analytics, and emerging decision technologies to improve Ally's acquisition capabilities.
+ Lead, coach, and develop a team of strategy and analytics professionals responsible for delivering measurable business outcomes.
**The Qualifications We’re Looking For**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics or a similar discipline with quantitative focus, master’s degree preferred.
+ Significant experience (7+ years) and knowledge of consumer financing industry (e.g..
auto, card, mortgage etc.).
+ 5+ years of experience in a similar role focused on treatment strategies with a champion/challenger (test/control) framework from the design stage to the implementation/monitoring stage.
+ 2+ Years Auto Underwriting Experience Required
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present proposals and vision to executive leadership (including C-level).
+ Experience working with (and ability to influence) matrix partners that impact change capability, such as IT, Compliance, Legal, Vendor Management and Operations.
+ Candidate should possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; should be a critical thinker with strong attention to details.
+ Advanced knowledge of statistics and quantitative models.
+ Experience with segmentation software such as Model builder, SAS Miner, Knowledge Seeker or R.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 9+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ High school Diploma or GED equivalent

**Base Pay Range**
$135,000.00 - $235,000.00
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications.

**Incentive Compensation:**
This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
