We are hiring a junior joiner.

JOB PURPOSE

At Neufeld Woodworks Ltd. a junior joiner is a trained craftsperson, with less then 5 years experience, who manufactures wooden components in a workshop—such as cabinetry, furniture and other millworks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Blueprint Reading: Interpreting technical drawings, architectural plans, and blueprints to calculate exact specifications.

· Material Preparation: Sourcing, measuring, and marking different types of wood, plus cutting and shaping them using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.

· Component Construction: Crafting specific "joinery" items—this involves cutting accurate, interlocking wood joints to assemble items like cabinets, bookshelves, door frames, and custom furniture.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Mathematics & Measurement: Strong mathematical skills for taking precise measurements and calculating angles.

· Tool Proficiency: Mastery of woodworking machinery (e.g.,



table saws, routers) and various hand tools.

· Attention to Detail: High precision to ensure joints fit perfectly and components function properly.

· Physical Stamina: The ability to lift heavy timber, stand for extended periods, and work in dusty or noisy environments

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Shop hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
