Commercial Construction Project Manager/Estimator – Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced construction professional who can estimate and manage commercial projects from bid through completion. The right person brings strong hands-on construction experience and practical know-how, with the ability to assess a project, determine how the work will be performed, identify potential issues before they happen, and accurately quote the work required.

You should be equally comfortable reviewing drawings and specifications, walking a job site, working with customers and subcontractors, and providing practical direction to crews in the field.

What you will be doing:

- Help build and grow the Commercial Division including crews, subcontractor relationships, processes and resources
- Find and pursue commercial opportunities through bidding platforms, RFPs, industry relationships, referrals and networking
- Visit job sites, review scopes, drawings, specifications and tender documents, using your construction experience to identify potential issues and constructability concerns
- Develop accurate scopes, estimates and pricing, including labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors and other project requirements
- Determine how the work will be executed, including sequencing, crew requirements, equipment, access and potential risks
- Build relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors and help generate new commercial opportunities
- Manage projects from award through completion, staying involved in both the planning and field execution
- Provide practical direction to crews in the field and troubleshoot issues as they arise

- Get hands-on when needed to demonstrate or support how work should be performed
- Take ownership of project outcomes, including quality, timelines, safety and profitability

What you should have:

- Strong hands-on construction background and practical knowledge gained through direct field experience
- Well-rounded construction experience—ideally including concrete, foundation repair, waterproofing, restoration, renovations, home building, structural repair or similar work
- Ability to look beyond drawings and specifications and understand how the work will actually be performed
- Experience with RFPs, tendering platforms, and commercial bidding processes
- Ability to identify missing scope, constructability concerns, sequencing issues and potential problems before quoting or starting work
- Experience estimating and costing construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, tender packages and scopes of work
- Strong practical problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Able to comfortably provide technical direction to crews and getting hands-on when required
- Experience managing projects, schedules, subcontractors, customers and budgets
- Able to work independently,

take initiative and make sound decisions without relying on others for day-to-day construction direction
- Industry relationships and commercial network connections are an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract

In Return, You Will Receive:

- Base Salary: $90,000 + commission (OTE $150,000+)
- A company vehicle and fuel card (business use only) will be provided
- A benefits package, including a Health Spending Account, will be provided upon completion of the probationary period
- 2 weeks vacation plus 2 weeks paid leave at Christmas break

Where You Will Be Working:

- Edmonton, Alberta

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year

Application question(s):

- Do you have a clean driver's abstract?
- Do you have experience with RFPs, tendering platforms, and commercial bidding processes?
- Do you have experience in foundation repair, waterproofing, restoration, structural repair, or commercial concrete industries?
- Do you have previous experience in commercial estimating, project management, construction sales, or related commercial construction roles?
