The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY) is a youth-centered and family-focused non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the well-being of newcomer children, youth and families. About the Role
We are looking for a People and Culture Generalist to join our People and Culture team and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the People and Culture Generalist provides broad HR support across the employee lifecycle. This role partners with employees and leaders to deliver effective people practices, support employee experience, and help ensure HR programs, policies, and processes are implemented consistently across the organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys a varied generalist role, building relationships, solving workplace challenges,
and contributing to meaningful People and Culture initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, employee development, performance management, and employee transitions.
- Provide support on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and performance issues.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR information within the organization’s HRIS.
- Support the administration of compensation, benefits, payroll-related processes, and employee programs.
- Prepare and monitor HR reports, metrics, and dashboards to support informed decision-making.
- Contribute to employee engagement, recognition, workplace culture, and organizational initiatives.
- Support the development, implementation, and review of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Promote consistent and compliant HR practices in accordance with organizational policies and applicable legislation.
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within People and Culture.
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources,
Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of HR practices and Alberta employment legislation.
- Experience working with an HRIS; ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
- Payroll administration experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- A team-oriented approach with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- CPHR designation or progress toward the designation is an asset.
