Main Function: This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the warehouse staff and the efficient management of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving and storage of product.
Responsibilities
- Manage the shipping, receiving and storage of products handled by the facility, ensuring optimum use of warehouse space, as well as ensuring products are stored in accordance with the AWSA and NFC regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring all products are shipped and received in accordance with CWS’s shipping and receiving policies and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Perform inventory counts as required by the customer, as well as periodic inventory counts to ensure actual inventory matches inventory records.
- In conjunction with the Transportation group, responsible for the scheduling of incoming and outgoing loads, as well as scheduling trailers for loading.
- Responsible for overseeing the paper flow from the floor to the administrative staff so tasks can be completed promptly
- Responsible for ensuring the proper documentation is attached to each outbound load, including bill of ladings, placards and signatures.
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, which includes consolidation of customer inventory as well as pallets and other materials for Warehouse use.
- Investigate and document damages, complaints, near misses and accidents
- Responsible for overseeing and training new staff on SOP’s and responsibilities related to the effective operation of the facility.
- Leads daily warehouse operations by prioritizing activities, providing leadership, and assigning and reviewing team members' work.
- Comply and enforce company policies, procedures, industry standards, AWSA program and Canada Labour Code Part II (OH&S;), including holding monthly “Safety Talk”.
- Responsible to work with the Warehouse Manager to conduct performance reviews, coach and discipline warehouse staff as required.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the manager
Requirements
- No existing allergy to agricultural chemicals or pesticides
- Must provide a pre-employment “Police Criminal Record Check”, current within 30 days
- Grade 12 or recognized educational equivalent
- Three years of experience in receiving, storing and shipping products in a warehouse environment is required
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS and forklift operator certification obtained
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Must be able to wear PPE: eye protection, respirator, boots.
Pay: From $32.63 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
