Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to oversee demolition projects and coordinate team activities on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in various construction disciplines, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. This role involves supervising daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate construction crews to ensure timely and efficient project completion
- Operate or oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery safely and effectively
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Assist in planning project timelines and resource allocation
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet project specifications and deadlines
- Provide mentorship and training to crew members to develop their skills

Skills

- Experience with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction machinery
- Ability to interpret construction documents and schematics accurately




- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a construction environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and troubleshoot issues efficiently

Requirements

- 2+ years of demolition or construction experience
- Leadership or crew supervision experience is an asset
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical work
- Reliable transportation essential, valid driver’s license mandatory
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of basic tools and equipment
- WHMIS certification
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in fast paced environments

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
