After-School Program Assistant

Renert School (K-12) is an innovative private school in NW Calgary that houses various after-school programs.

School requires an After School Assistant who will help lead, create and work with the children at our After School Club from Monday to Friday 3:00 - 6:30pm. There may be opportunity to also work as a back up morning care attendant from 7 - 9am. The successful candidate must enjoy working with people of all ages in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive and efficient environment for all.

Qualifications:

- Experience with children of various ages is an asset most especially for grades K -6
- Current standard First Aid
- Current criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check)
- Creative with crafts and activities

- A positive attitude, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and ability to develop rapport with all members of the after-school program
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and deal effectively with stressful situations




- Ability to take initiative and take a project from idea to successful implementation
- A high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and courtesy
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain and promote confidentiality
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of communication

Responsibilities include:

- Delivering exceptional customer service to all members of the after-school program community
- Ensuring the well being of all students and staff by creating and maintaining a safe setting
- Mentor jr and high school students working in the after-school program
- Ensuring classrooms are set up appropriately for the various activities
