Berminghammer Foundation Equipment (SB Canada) is currently seeking an Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor.

An Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor for Welding and Machining oversees evening fabrication, machining, and assembly operations, managing workflow, safety, and quality targets.

Shift schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm - 2am.

The position will be based out of the Manufacturing site in Hamilton, ON.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

Core Focus: Directing welding, fabrication, and machine shop teams to meet daily output goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

- Operations & Workflow: Manage daily production schedules, assign tasks to welders, machinists, and assemblers, and monitor material flow across departments.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols (such as CWB standards for welding), conduct safety walks, and maintain strict quality control checks on finished metal parts.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor,



and train shift personnel, resolve operational or staffing issues, and conduct shift handovers with the day team.
- Troubleshooting: Assist with hands-on troubleshooting of shop machinery, welding equipment, or automated systems.
- Administration: Complete shift production reporting, and document any safety incidents or maintenance needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience: 3 to 5 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, welding, or machine shop environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of welding symbols, blueprint/shop drawing reading, machining processes, and metal fabrication. Certifications like CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) are frequently required.
- Skills: Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and basic computer proficiency for tracking inventory and reporting.
