Agentic Platform Lead

3 -Month Contract-to-Hire

We’re working with a growing technology organisation looking for an Agentic Platform Lead to build the infrastructure powering AI agents across a portfolio of products.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who can architect scalable platforms, build developer infrastructure and lead an engineering team , while remaining close to the code.

What you’ll be doing

- Own the architecture and delivery of a scalable AI/agent platform
- Build infrastructure for agent orchestration, APIs, security, monitoring and governance
- Create platform capabilities that allow product teams to independently develop and deploy AI features
- Make key technical decisions around architecture, build vs. buy and emerging AI technologies
- Lead, mentor and grow the platform engineering team, including hiring
- Work directly with product and engineering teams to drive platform adoption
- Remain hands-on with backend services, APIs and platform development

What we’re looking for
- 5+ years in platform engineering, distributed systems or similar
- Proven experience building and scaling multi-tenant platforms or developer infrastructure




- Strong full-stack development experience across backend, APIs and web applications
- Strong API design and developer tooling experience
- Experience architecting complex workflows and stateful systems
- Experience leading technical teams and hiring engineers
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
- Robust experience with modern backend technologies such as Python, Java, C#, Node.js or similar
- Experience with observability, debugging, reliability and production systems

Nice to have
- Experience building AI/ML or agentic platforms
- LLM orchestration frameworks and agent architectures
- MCP or similar extensibility patterns
- Multi-agent systems and task delegation
- Vector databases / semantic search
- Developer experience and platform adoption
- Conversational AI / chat interfaces
- Enterprise security and compliance

This is a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity , with the expectation of moving into a permanent position for the right person. If you're a hands-on engineering leader who has built platforms from the ground up and wants to shape how AI agents are deployed at scale, I'd be keen to speak.
