Animal Care Attendant – Daycare & Boarding

Part-Time | 22–32 Hours Per Week | Varying Schedule

Our animals are more than just pets — they are family. We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing a safe, clean, loving, and positive environment for every dog in our care, while also providing our guests with friendly, qualified, and exceptional customer service.

This is a hands-on position that combines animal care, customer service, cleaning, and administrative responsibilities. No two days are exactly the same, and the ability to stay organized, focused, and calm in a busy environment is essential.

What You’ll Do

As an Animal Care Attendant, your responsibilities will include:

Animal Care

- Providing attentive, compassionate care to dogs throughout the day
- Supervising daycare groups and ensuring a safe and positive environment
- Paying close attention to each dog's behaviour, personality, and individual needs
- Recognizing changes in a dog's behaviour and responding appropriately
- Keeping multiple dogs engaged, supervised, and safe at the same time
- Feeding, watering, and following individual feeding and care instructions
- Taking dogs outside for bathroom breaks and exercise
- Providing positive interaction, attention, affection, and enrichment
- Monitoring dogs for changes in behaviour, health, or overall well-being
- Following all animal-care, safety, and facility procedures

Guest Services & Front Desk

- Answering phone calls with a friendly and professional telephone manner
- Greeting guests and checking pets in and out
- Handling reservations and coordinating bookings
- Scheduling a variety of daycare, boarding, and other services
- Reviewing and accurately entering guest and pet information into our computer system
- Responding to guest questions,



requests, and special instructions
- Handling payments accurately and professionally
- Promoting and selling retail products
- Promoting our services and helping guests understand which options may best suit their pets
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all guest and pet information

Facility & Team Responsibilities

- Keeping kennels, play areas, workspaces, and common areas clean, organized, and sanitized
- Completing assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner
- Working independently with minimal supervision when required
- Communicating effectively and working cohesively with all team members
- Contributing to a positive, respectful, and supportive workplace
- Being willing to jump in and help wherever needed — because teamwork is essential in a busy pet-care environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

- Caring, patient, compassionate, and genuinely passionate about animals
- Responsible, dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Comfortable working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels
- Able to recognize and respond appropriately to different dog behaviours and needs
- Able to remain calm, focused, and courteous during busy periods
- Comfortable managing multiple dogs, guests, and requests at the same time
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy while multitasking
- Comfortable using a computer to enter, access, and update information
- Able to think clearly and make sound, concise decisions in a loud or noisy environment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional, friendly, and confident when interacting with guests




- Possesses strong telephone etiquette and communication skills
- Comfortable promoting our products and services
- Organized and able to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Respectful of guest privacy and able to maintain confidentiality
- A strong team player with a positive attitude
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changing daily needs

Availability Required

This is a part-time position with approximately 22–32 hours per week, with varying hours based on the needs of our daycare and boarding schedule.

Flexibility and availability are very important. Candidates must be available to work a combination of:

- Weekday daytime shifts, with some shifts starting as early as 6:30 AM
- Evening shifts, with some shifts ending as late as 10:30 PM
- Weekends and holidays as required
