Join a collaborative environmental team dedicated to delivering innovative, science-based solutions across infrastructure, oil & gas, mining, and environmental projects. Based in Calgary, you will play a key role in supporting fisheries and aquatic ecosystem initiatives through field assessments, habitat evaluations, environmental monitoring, regulatory permitting, and impact assessments. Working alongside multidisciplinary specialists, you will contribute to environmental assessments, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and help clients navigate provincial and federal regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in fisheries biology, aquatic ecology, and habitat management, along with knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory processes. A willingness to expand expertise in environmental assessments, permitting, and multidisciplinary environmental consulting will be essential to success in this role.

Make a Difference

- Conduct fisheries and aquatic resource assessments, including study design, field investigations, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
- Complete fisheries assessments for multidisciplinary projects across infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, and land development sectors.
- Evaluate projects for federal and provincial permitting requirements and prepare regulatory submissions, including Fisheries Act Authorizations, Requests for Review, amendments, offsetting plans,



and related documentation.
- Support the preparation and execution of aquatic resource baseline studies, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory documentation for environmental assessment processes.
- Engage with clients, Indigenous communities, regulators, and project stakeholders to provide technical expertise and support project approvals.
- Prepare technical proposals, work plans, and cost estimates to support project pursuits and business development activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, ecologists, environmental scientists, engineers, and regulatory specialists, to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
- Provide technical expertise related to fisheries biology, aquatic habitat assessments, fish passage, habitat offsetting, and aquatic ecosystem management.
- Support environmental assessments, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), ecological risk evaluations, and environmental due diligence initiatives.
- Interpret and apply municipal, provincial, and federal environmental legislation, policies, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks to support project compliance and successful permitting outcomes.
- Lead and champion a culture of excellence, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of health, safety, and quality across all areas of operation.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, while fostering continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory and external client requirements.

or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and environmental assessment frameworks across Western and Northern Canada.
- Hands on expertise conducting aquatic studies, including fish habitat assessments, fish community sampling, fish passage evaluations, and flow needs assessments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to technical excellence, including proposal development, technical reviews, and report writing.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel periodically to support projects and client needs.
- strong team player who enjoys collaborating across disciplines and sharing knowledge.
