Take ownership of custom architectural millwork projects from award through fabrication, installation, and closeout. We’re looking for an experienced project manager who understands how detailed designs become finished spaces—and can manage the people, schedules, and financial decisions along the way.
The Staffing Exchange is recruiting on behalf of an established architectural millwork manufacturer delivering custom work for commercial, institutional, hospitality, and retail projects across Canada and the United States.
What you’ll do
- Independently manage architectural millwork projects from contract award to final client sign-off.
- Review contracts, architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to establish scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate engineering, detailing, purchasing, production, shipping, installers, and subcontractors.
- Own project budgets, schedules, cost tracking, change orders, invoicing, and financial performance.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, samples, approvals, and project documentation.
- Verify site dimensions and readiness, coordinate deliveries and installation, and resolve field issues.
- Serve as the main client contact, providing clear updates and addressing concerns throughout delivery.
- Complete deficiencies, as-builts, warranties, and closeout documentation.
What you bring
- Approximately 10+ years of architectural millwork and related industry experience ,
including at least five years managing relevant millwork projects .
- Direct custom architectural wood millwork experience is essential.
- Experience managing substantial commercial millwork packages, with explicit responsibility for budgets, fabrication coordination, and installation.
- Solid understanding of materials, construction methods, shop drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
- Working knowledge of AWMAC/AWI standards ; be prepared to discuss your practical experience.
- Confident client communication, sound judgment, and the ability to manage projects independently.
- Proficiency with project management and drawing-review software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore, Microsoft Project, Crow’s Nest, or similar.
- Availability to work fully on-site in Mississauga and travel to project sites as needed.
- Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Candidates who progressed from cabinetmaking, installation, detailing, estimating, or production into project management are encouraged to apply. Team leadership experience is an asset.
