We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager for Borealis Grille & Bar in Kitchener. This is a real leadership role with real responsibility — floor presence, bar inventory, team development, and the administrative side of running a busy, high-volume restaurant.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

- Lead front-of-house operations with a strong, consistent presence on the floor every shift
- Build genuine relationships with guests and create an environment people want to come back to
- Manage bar inventory and ordering — receiving, tracking, variance reporting, and keeping the beverage program well-stocked and well-run; strong knowledge of inventory systems is essential
- Support scheduling, reporting, and day-to-day administrative tasks
- Monitor labour and cost controls alongside the General Manager
- Coach and develop team members at every level and contribute to a great team culture
- Step up and make calls when the GM isn’t on the floor

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 2+ years of hospitality management or supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant
- A hands-on leader who is most comfortable on the floor, not behind a desk
- Organized and detail-oriented — the admin side doesn’t intimidate you
- Solid understanding of labour, cost controls, bar inventory, and ordering — experience with inventory management systems is a must
- Someone who genuinely wants to grow into a GM role and is ready to put in the work
- Calm under pressure and positive at keeping your team calm too
- Smart Serve certification required
- Experience and comfortable with POS and reservation systems (Silverware and OpenTable experience is a bonus)





EARNINGS & PERKS

- $50,000 base salary
- Team Share paid bi-weekly — gratuities are paid directly by guests and distributed to eligible team members through an independently operated tip committee. Amounts vary based on sales and seasonality and are not controlled by the restaurant, but can meaningfully increase your overall earnings
