Assistant General Manager

Location: Vaughan, Ontario

Employment: Full-time, on-site

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 per year, negotiable based on experience

Position Overview

West-Tech Finishing Inc. is seeking a full-time, on-site Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of our Vaughan manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position reporting directly to the General Manager. The Assistant General Manager will help oversee daily operations across multiple departments, support employees and department leaders, monitor operational performance, and help ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be involved in employee supervision, production and operational planning, compliance initiatives, performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and the coordination of day-to-day business activities.

We are looking for an experienced manufacturing professional with a strong background in operations, production, plant supervision, or manufacturing leadership. Experience within aerospace, defence, metal finishing, machining, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Experience with Nadcap requirements and Canada's Controlled Goods Program is considered a strong asset. Candidates with strong manufacturing leadership experience in comparable regulated environments may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the General Manager with daily plant operations and coordination across departments.
- Assist with employee supervision, onboarding, training, development, and performance follow-up.
- Monitor production schedules, operational targets, inventory, budgets, customer feedback, and other key performance indicators.




- Identify and help resolve production, staffing, quality, and operational issues.
- Prepare reports, schedules, meeting agendas, minutes, action plans, and other operational documentation.
- Coordinate communication between production, quality, administration, customers, vendors, and other departments.
- Help ensure company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory requirements are consistently followed.
- Support quality and regulatory compliance activities, including Nadcap, AS9100, ISO 9001, Controlled Goods, and audit preparation.
- Assist with health and safety leadership and the development of a solid safety culture throughout the facility.
- Support continuous improvement, corrective action, productivity, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor improvement projects and ensure assigned action items are completed.
- Handle routine employee, customer, and operational escalations.
- Assist with business planning and other management initiatives as required.
- Act on behalf of the General Manager when required and within delegated authority.

Required Qualifications

- Strong previous experience in manufacturing operations, production management, plant supervision, or a comparable manufacturing leadership position.
- Demonstrated experience supervising employees and coordinating day-to-day manufacturing activities.
- Experience working within a quality-driven or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple departments, priorities, and operational issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, production management, or other manufacturing information systems.
- Strong computer, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, senior management,



and other stakeholders.

Preferred Background

Experience or education in one or more of the following areas would be considered an asset:

- Aerospace or defence manufacturing.
- Anodizing, plating, metal finishing, or surface treatment.
- Precision machining or advanced manufacturing.
- Plant or manufacturing operations management.
- Nadcap-regulated special processes.
- AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Canada's Controlled Goods Program.
- Audit preparation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Production scheduling, inventory management, budgeting, and operational performance measurement.
- A bachelor's or graduate degree in business, operations management, engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field.
- Recent graduates from a relevant bachelor's, master's, MBA, engineering, or operations-focused program may be considered where their education, internships, co-op experience, or previous manufacturing experience demonstrates strong potential for an operational leadership role.
