Role Description The Automation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Brantford, ON.
The Automation
Engineer will troubleshoot, design, develop, and implement automation solutions, including programming and configuring control systems for material handling and robotics applications. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment and control systems, optimizing process control strategies, and ensuring reliable integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical documentation,
and supporting commissioning and after-sales service to maintain high system performance.
The Automation
Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.
shift schedule : 12 hours shifts 4 days a week on rotation
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Automation troubleshooting and Process Control skills for designing, programming, and optimizing industrial control systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering skills to support system design, wiring, panel layout, and hardware integration.
- Candidates should possess Robotics and Automation skills to configure, program, and maintain robotic systems within integrated solutions.
- Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, control, and mechanical systems.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation) or a related technical field.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and motion control platforms commonly used in automation projects.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs;, and technical drawings, with solid attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work safely on-site and occasionally support project-based travel.
