About The Role

As a Chief Backend Developer within the Platforms and Automation team at National Bank, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining strategic backend services in a cloud-native environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the modernization of the bank’s technology infrastructure through your expertise in software development, distributed architectures, and cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes. You will be instrumental in automating operations, evolving critical services, and enhancing the reliability, performance, and stability of our platforms.

Your contributions will directly impact the bank’s ability to deliver seamless, secure, and scalable digital experiences to our customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in backend development within a production environment. Demonstrated proficiency in Go and Python is essential, along with advanced knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture principles.



Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and modern DevOps practices such as GitHub is required.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of distributed architectures, software design principles, and API integration. Availability to participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical services is also necessary. A proven track record of working in agile, collaborative environments and a passion for continuous learning and innovation will set you apart.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize backend services in Go and Python, ensuring high availability and performance in production environments.
- Develop and integrate new features and APIs to support automation platforms and large-scale technological processes.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of modern distributed solutions based on microservices and AWS cloud technologies.
- Ensure seamless integration, deployment, and operation of applications utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to promote platform adoption, share best practices, and recommend solutions aligned with business goals.
- Participate in incident resolution, continuous service improvement, and platform availability efforts, including on-call support rotation.
