About The Role As a key member of our engineering team, the Cloud / Grafana-as-a-Service Developer will play a pivotal role in scaling and evolving Grafana’s core architecture to support a fully multi-tenant, scalable, and robust platform. This role involves transforming Grafana into a comprehensive observability app platform where both open-source and proprietary applications can seamlessly integrate with dashboards, alerts, incidents, and telemetry data, delivering highly integrated and user-centric experiences.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with SaaS platforms at scale, with a focus on multi-tenancy, scalability, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for coding new features, improving system operations, and refining the user experience based on production insights.



Your contributions will influence the platform’s roadmap, and you will collaborate across teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Additionally, you will mentor team members, participate in design reviews, and support our on-call rotation to ensure high availability and reliability of our services. We foster an environment that encourages the use of AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and documentation processes, ensuring rapid iteration and high-quality output. This is a remote role open to candidates in the US and Canada, offering a unique chance to work at the forefront of observability technology in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in software development, particularly in SaaS platforms at scale
- Strong coding skills, with familiarity or willingness to learn Golang
- Operational experience with distributed systems, including scalability, multi-tenancy, high availability, and data isolation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills with the ability to handle ambiguity
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and telemetry systems is a plus
- Familiarity with modern AI coding assistants and development tools
- Ability to participate in on-call rotations and ensure system reliability

- Develop and implement new features to enhance the Grafana platform and its operational experience
- Contribute to and review design documents, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with product goals




- Shape the product roadmap by providing technical insights and innovative ideas

- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability and respond to incidents promptly
- Refactor and simplify core components of Grafana to support multi-tenancy and scalability
