Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ball Hockey Official to oversee games and ensure fair play in accordance with established rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, strong communication skills, and the ability to educate players on the rules of the game. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of ball hockey while fostering a positive environment for all participants.

Shift: Friday nights, RA Centre, 6.15 pm to 9.30 pm, September 18 - December 18, inclusive.

Duties

- Officiate ball hockey games, ensuring adherence to game rules and regulations.
- Educate players on the rules of the game before and during matches.
- Maintain control of the game by making fair and impartial decisions.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and other officials to ensure smooth gameplay.
- Monitor player conduct and enforce penalties as necessary.
- Keep accurate records of game statistics and incidents.
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on rule changes and officiating techniques.

Qualifications





- Previous experience playing or officiating ball hockey is preferred but not required.
- Robust understanding of ball hockey rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate players.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Must be physically fit to keep up with the pace of the game.
- A willingness to learn and develop officiating skills further.
- Certification or training in sports officiating is a plus but not mandatory.
