Role Description The BIM Architect at KOOTWALL is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This role involves developing and managing BIM models across all project phases, coordinating architectural and construction drawings, and ensuring accurate documentation for design, permitting, and construction. The BIM Architect collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate design intent, sustainability goals, and technical requirements into comprehensive BIM workflows.
Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing submittals,
resolving design and coordination issues, supporting quality control, and contributing to continuous improvement of KOOTWALL’s BIM standards and processes.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in Architecture with experience in design development and coordination.
- Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and workflows (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
- Ability to produce and manage detailed Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and tracking Submittals and related technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and relevant building codes and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and spatial visualization skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary project teams.
- Experience with clash detection, model coordination, and QA/QC in BIM environments is an asset.
- Qualified licensure or eligibility for licensure in architecture is considered an advantage.
