Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bioanalytical Chemist role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada.
The Bioanalytical
Chemist will perform routine and complex bioanalytical testing, including sample preparation, extraction, and analysis of biological matrices using chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques (e.g., LC-MS/MS, HPLC). The role involves executing validated analytical methods, contributing to method development and optimization, and ensuring data integrity and compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and SOPs.
The individual will be responsible for documenting experimental procedures, maintaining laboratory instruments, troubleshooting analytical issues, and preparing technical reports and data summaries for study teams and sponsors. Collaboration with project managers, quality assurance, and other scientific staff to meet timelines, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives is expected.
Qualifications
2-3 years of experience in bioanalytical extraction.
- Solid foundation in analytical chemistry and bioanalytical methods, including chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques (e.g., LC-MS/MS, HPLC).
- Experience with laboratory procedures such as sample preparation, extraction of biological matrices, calibration curve preparation, and method validation.
- Knowledge of regulatory and quality frameworks relevant to bioanalysis (e.g., GLP, GCP, FDA and EMA bioanalytical method validation guidelines).
- Proficiency in scientific data analysis, interpretation, and reporting using relevant software tools (e.g., instrument control software, LIMS, and spreadsheet/statistical applications).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology bioanalytical laboratory environment is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple studies and priorities within defined timelines.
