QuickBooks Online Experience Required

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist who has strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and is confident managing day-to-day accounting independently.

This position is ideal for someone who understands how to properly maintain company books, reconcile accounts, prepare HST filings, assist with month-end/year-end accounting, and work directly with our external accountant.

Candidates with previous experience working for an accounting or CPA firm will be given first priority.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Online
- Record and categorize daily business transactions correctly
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Review outstanding customer and vendor balances
- Enter bills, expenses, payments, deposits, and journal entries
- Maintain proper Chart of Accounts
- Identify and correct incorrect QuickBooks entries
- Review bank feeds and properly match/categorize transactions
- Prepare monthly financial information and reports
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare and review GST/HST filings
- Reconcile HST collected and Input Tax Credits
- Maintain supporting documentation for CRA purposes
- Assist the external accountant with corporate tax preparation and year-end requirements
- Prepare reports, schedules, reconciliations, and documents requested by the accountant
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documents




- Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations
- Monitor upcoming payments and ensure bills and government remittances are not missed
- Review accounts regularly for discrepancies and bring concerns to management
- Help improve accounting procedures and internal controls

Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is required
- Must understand how to properly maintain and manage company books
- Strong knowledge of GST/HST
- Experience preparing or assisting with HST returns
- Robust understanding of bank reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general ledger accounting
- Experience assisting accountants with year-end and corporate tax preparation
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to identify accounting errors and resolve discrepancies independently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Able to handle confidential financial information professionally
- Able to work independently without requiring constant supervision

Preferred Experience Priority will be given to candidates who have:

- Previous experience working in an accounting firm, bookkeeping firm, or CPA firm




- Experience handling books for multiple companies or clients
- Advanced QuickBooks Online experience
- Experience with CRA filings and HST reconciliations
- Experience preparing working papers and year-end information for accountants
- Transportation or trucking industry accounting experience

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the bookkeeping function — not someone who only enters invoices.

The successful candidate should be able to review the books, recognize when something is incorrect, keep accounts organized, monitor deadlines, and make sure the accounting records are accurate and ready for management and the external accountant.
